Metropolitan Baltimore Education Advocacy Network (MBEAN) provides advocacy and an extended forum for community and individual citizens to independently address educational issues, policies, rules and programs in the Baltimore region and beyond by:
- Disseminating information about conditions and matters related to education locally, statewide, and nationally, particularly as related to subgroups referred to as minority students;
- Studying academic practices and evaluating the effectiveness of education by reviewing disaggregated student achievement data system-wide and for individual schools;
- Supporting and advocating for students and parents and community members by monitoring issues important to student success, and how the school system addresses those issues.
